The antitrust Commission of the European Union has given an allegation that Google is doing biased practices with promoting its services on Android devices. Their allegation is based on the applications which cellphone manufacturers are using with Android operating system. Google promotes in such a way that its applications be inbuilt in the Android operating system like ‘Google Chrome’, ‘Gmail’, ‘Reuters’, ‘Google+’, ‘Google Map’, ‘Google Inbox’ etc.
Margrethe Vestager, a Danish politician and European Competition Commissioner, said on Wednesday that in Europe, an aggressive ‘mobile internet sector’ was equally important with proper development for businesses and customers. She also told that Google’s tendency has been declining customers from various choices of mobile ‘apps and services’, and also obstructing other companies to present various apps with innovation.
Advertising on the pre installed applications, Google earns a great deal of money. An estimate was given to the Reuters by an analyst last year that was near $11 billion as Google’s earnings. Google will have to respond to the allegation made by the ‘Antitrust Commission of the European Union’ within 12 weeks.
The General Counsel of Google told that they were progressively thinking to work with the European Commission, and they would manifest that Android operating system was good for ‘competition’ as well as ‘customers’.
