They both were visually impaired, yet their vision for love for each other could not separate them. He was a spectacular painter. Blindness restricted his espy only to the black darkness around, yet he dipped his brushes in his soul to produce the most lustrous colors ever, to give life to his art. She, on the other hand, had a fascination with history and wanted to remain immortal through her deeds.

He wanted to donate his eyes to let her see the world and marvel at his paintings, yet if only he had his own. Scouting through his thoughts and sketching through his imagination, he produced the ultimate masterpiece. A remarkable portrait, which so much resembled her, teeming with life and beauty, yet he chose not to sketch her eyes off in the portrait, leaving it incomplete, perhaps trying to establish a veristic connection with her disability.

That night, he dreamt about Mona Lisa, and she had a hallucination of Da Vinci. The next morning, they both were declared dead. His paintings were sent to one of the famous art galleries for exhibition.

One of his sketches began to pull a large crowd every day. It was the beautiful portrait of her that captivated the masses, the most astonishing aspect of it being its sparkling eyes, like sea shells, deeper and darker than the mysterious sea. What the painter couldn’t do when he was alive was fulfill his desires by donating his eyes after his death. 

The portrait was declared the 8th wonder of the world. He earned recognition as a painter posthumously. She couldn’t do much with history while being alive, yet she became part of history herself, attaining immortality through the parodied work of art. While experts are still baffled trying to resolve the enigma behind Monalisa’s mysterious smile, at the other corner of the art gallery, Mona Lisa still smiles mysteriously even today. Only she and Da Vinci know the real pretext behind it, as that night they delightfully plotted in tandem to fulfill the desires of a visually impaired infamous couple, turning them into an overnight sensation.
