US virologist Peter Kolchinski said that corona is not only horrible but at the same time, it is very much different from other viruses. In his words, if an enemy is tactical it becomes more challenging to kill him.

The coronavirus has learned how to enter into the human body and how to spread rapidly with infection. That is the reason it has become irresistible all over the world and created a situation of a pandemic.

Peter Kolchinsky is a biotechnology scientist and investor. He is also the co-founder of RA Capital Management and he writes and teaches about biomedical entrepreneurship. He told in an interview that coronavirus not only infects lungs, but it can also infect many other organs in the human body. It has discovered its ‘receptor protein’ or ‘carrier protein’ in every part of the human body, and that is the only reason why it can infect and damage other parts of the human body as well. The virus breaks down the immune system by injuring the respiratory tract first. Then it infects the heart, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract and sometimes the liver.

Peter Kolchinsky told that SARS-COV-2 has already implemented the strategy of how to get into a human body, now this Covid-19 has arranged its strategy. The SARS virus that infected various people in 2003 was also infectious, but it stopped in infecting humans after a certain period of time. This Covid-19 is the nineteenth version of SARS-COV-2 but it is very different in nature. Though the pattern of its gene is similar to SARS-COV-2, it is a few steps ahead in terms of strategy and transmission.

What are the tactics by which corona is spreading into so many people?

Virologist says that Covid-19 is a ‘Silent Killer’. As the days go by, the virus is learning new tricks of human transmission. Its expression is invisible initially, so the symptoms are not detected. When the virus jumps into the body cannot be observed. The virus has been lying in ambush for some time after entering from nose and mouth through Droplets. Its symptoms appear after 7-14 days. During this time, the virus travels from the throat to the lungs, identifying its carrier proteins and entering the cells. Then it’s increasing in number with creating replication. From the lungs to the bloodstream, it occupies the heart, kidney and liver. This whole journey is covered almost silently.

Symptoms only come when multiple cells or organs in the body are losing their ability to function. That is why some people are suffering from heart disease, severe acne, pneumonia, liver or kidney failure in some cases.

Peter says 80% of corona patients are asymptomatic. That is the reason symptoms are not understood at the beginning in those cases. Those people come in contact with other people, and nobody doubts about the infection. So the virus is spreading from one body to another before being alerted.

Sars-Cove-1 was a lot of fools, but Sars-Cove-2 was super-smart, says the virologist. It is really a challenge to control the virus that is transforming its character every moment. Peter says that there are so many careless carriers around us who do not know what is happening in their body. When the infection will be seen, the patient will be out of control, and the virus will spread into many others who come near him by then. Until a vaccine or drug comes into the market, the only way to prevent this virus is to use social distance and masks. The virus has to find a way to find new human bodies, so it is important to keep a mutual distance at home or outside.
