There has been news of several conversions from Hindu communities to Muslims in Pakistan for a couple of years. Mostly the females of minority communities like Hindu, Christian, Baha’i, Sikh, etc. are converted to Muslim.

Recently, some new cases of conversion have come to light that created turmoil in society. There is news of another conversion of a Hindu woman in Thatta town of Sindh province of Pakistan. According to local media, Payal Devi, a resident of Thatta, has now become Noor Fatima after her conversion on 29th June. He is married to a man named Kamran Ali.

Noor Fatima had filed a petition in Sindh High Court expressing concern about the danger to her and her husband’s life. Noor Fatima (Payal) says that her decision has angered residents as well as the people of her community. This has threatened her life, so she and her husband should be provided with police protection. On this, the High Court has issued an order to give protection to both.

It has been alleged by the Hindu community that their girls are kidnapped and married and then they are forced to tell through a video published in the media that they have voluntarily converted and married. The echo of this issue was also heard in the Sindh Assembly, where members expressed unanimous concern over the problem and passed a unanimous resolution recommending a temporary prohibition on the activity.

Another media source of Islamabad disclosed that the Maulvi, who forcibly converted two minor Hindu girls Raveena and Reena in Pakistan for their marriage with two Muslim people, has been arrested. According to reports, these minor Hindu girls were abducted first, after which the incident was carried out. Both these minor girls have approached the Bahawalpur court of Punjab province of Pakistan and have approached the court for protection.

Taking cognizance of the case, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered an inquiry. Significantly, 13-year-old Raveena and 15-year-old Reena were kidnapped by a group of Bahubali people in their own area from their house in the Ghotki district.

There has been a case of kidnapping and conversion of another Hindu girl in Pakistan. A Hindu girl was allegedly kidnapped from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Sukkur in the Sindh province of Pakistan and was forcibly converted to Islam.

The kidnapped girl is identified as Renuka Kumari. A graduate student was abducted from her college where she was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration. A Facebook post by All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat, a non-profit organization, claimed that the girl left for her college on 29th August and after that, she went missing. Brother of the girl, Vinesh informed the media that his sister was involved in a romantic relationship with a fellow classmate Babar Aman and the two were in Sialkot at that time.

Sources have confirmed to the media that the couple was staying at the residence of Mirza Dilawar Baig who was an activist of ‘Tehreek-e-Insaf’ at Sialkot, Pakistan. Sources confirmed that Renuka was forcibly converted in the same way that other girls belonging to minority communities are forced to change their religion.

Sikh girl’s withdrawal in Pakistan

The incident took place at a time when 19-year-old Jagjit Kaur’s case in Pakistan is in constant headlines. Jagjit Kaur was similarly abducted and forced to convert to Islam before marrying a Muslim man in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

The incident came to light on Thursday after forced conversion, when Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared a video of the girl’s family alleging that the girl was abducted. It caught the attention of the Sikhs and this sparked anger in the community. The girl’s father, identified as Bhagwan Singh, is a Granthi (priest) in Gurdwara Tambu Sahib of Nankana Sahib.

Late Sushma Swaraj came in defense of daughters

Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, taking awareness of the news published in Indian newspapers, has asked for a detailed report from the Indian High Commission at Islamabad. Sushma Swaraj shared a media report on the incident and tweeted that Pakistan should take necessary steps to protect its citizens, especially minorities.

There was chaos in Pakistan after this tweet by the then Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. Pakistani media channels were addressing it as interference in their internal matter. The Communications Minister of Pakistan, Chaudhary Fawad, told in a replied tweet that it was an internal matter of Pakistan, it was not Modi’s India that the minorities have to face many problems. Chaudhary Fawad also told that he expected that you could have shown the same readiness about the rights of Indian minorities.

Sushma Swaraj then hit back again at Pakistan’s communications minister. She wrote, “Sir, I have only sought a report from the Indian High Commission on the abduction and compulsion of two minor girls. It was enough to bother you. It shows your guilt.”

We can remember another incident that happened in the first phase of this year. In January, a girl named Anusha Kumari was abducted and married to Muslim youth.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party said that it would present a resolution in its forthcoming session in the Pak assembly to end the forced conversion. The bill against forced conversion was unanimously passed by the Sindh Assembly in 2016 but was not approved by the governor.

Apart from spewing poison against India, Pakistan has not learned its lessons and continues its nefarious and devilish promotion by openly supporting ‘jihad’ against the neighbouring country, despite facing huge international pressure regarding terrorism. ‘Love Jihad’ is also one of the strategies for expanding the number of people in Muslim communities and dominating minority people. In this way, other minority communities are also facing similar problems, and ultimately most of the shift from Pakistan to elsewhere.

Nobody is allowed to quit Islam – this is the religious propaganda of Islam. So, once a woman is converted to Islam forcibly or by any other means, she can never come back to her own religion from that side.
