Atletico de Kolkata entered into the semi-finals of Indian Super League

Atletico de Kolkata confirmed their place as one of the semi-finalists in the Indian Super League today at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata, making a 1-1 draw with FC Goa. Fikru Teferra scored the equaliser from a penalty decision to make the draw. Atletico de Kolkata was trailing 0-1 at half time as Edgar Marcelino’s scored a stunning goal at the 27th minute of the match in front of nearly 38 thousand spectators at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.
With this match, Goans reached the second position with 22 points in the league table, while Atletico de Kolkata finished in the third with 10 points just ahead of Kerala Blasters FC on difference of goals. Atletico de Kolkata made several storms of attacks in the first quarter of the match, but remain unsuccessful in front of FC Goa’s strong defence. It was a splendid team collaboration demonstrated by FC Goa as Robert Pires set it up for Ranty Martins. Borja blocked it yet the ball took the avoidance and Edgar hammered it to the right hand top corner.
There have been a couple of changes in the Atletico de Kolkata team especially in their starting line-up. Podany and Baljit Sahni replaced with Garcia and Rakesh Masih. There were some changes on FC Goa also like Pires came back into the side along with Clifford Miranda, Youness Bengelloun.
